Prophylactic antibiotic selection for surgical patients
Why is this important?
Selecting and giving a patient the correct drug at the right time can be effective in preventing or reducing the risk of post-surgical infection. This also can prevent the length of stay from increasing and reduce the amount of time the patient spends in the hospital.
How WellSpan Compares
The following graph shows the percentage of surgical patients who received the correct prophylactic antibiotics. This indicator is measured at York Hospital.
